Help me build the global climate movement here: tinyurl.com/360bybike.
While there are climate change leaders among businesses, governments and not-for-profit organizations, 350.org is leading the movement. They are organizing, they are protesting, they are teaching, and they are building support. They have only existed for seven years, and already they have built a stronger, louder, and more successful movement than anything that existed previously.
Perhaps my favorite part, though, is that they’re organizing worldwide. They aren’t building support in New York and Silicon Valley and educating people from a pedestal. They’re working with people from all walks of life, from all over the world. 350.org presents a new model for addressing the problems that face the world, one that is both cooperative and effective.
I am collecting donations here:
(Climateride.org is a 501(3)(c) organization that runs supported bike tours to help raise money for organizations that help fight climate change. They also help individuals raising money for these organizations track donations. 80% of every dollar you give goes directly to 350.org, and they save 350.org processing time and money, so everyone is happy–I was initially pointed to climateride by someone at 350.org. If you would prefer to donate directly to 350, please feel free to do so.)
