Going further, is economic growth in the context of pure, unregulated capitalism even a path to prosperity? Sure, it has made some countries prosperous. But it hasn’t been a neutral force in the areas outside its bubbles of prosperity. Progress has been build on the backs and the graves of the poorest and darkest of us. Is there another way? I’m going to read some of these books on the ideas of the post-growth and degrowth movements and get back to you.
