In the last picture, bikes look about the right size until we see yours, which then looks like a toy. And your towering over others in the group reminds me of the pictures of Lauren amid the Guatamalans (sp?) when she was there in 1979.
In 1913 Igor Stravinsky wrote a controversial orchestral piece titled Sacre du Printemps. This title has been translated as Rite of Spring, which seems to be a near case of anticipatory plagiarism of your title for this week’s posting. Robert Merton, physicist, defines the term: “Anticipatory plagiarism occurs when someone steals your original idea and publishes it a hundred years before you were born.”
Also, can you provide any ID for that suspension bridge — e.g. name, location, clear span? I’d like to find some data about it for a notion rattling around in my head in the small hours of the night.
